Wide Disparities Continue, CMSL Report Finds


Wide disparities in the health and well-being of children continue to exist across the St. Louis region, according to the 2007 edition of the Children of Metropolitan St. Louis report produced by
Vision for Children at Risk. This report measures child well-being in the region across 25 key indicators.

Just under 165,000 children - almost 30% in the five-county region - reside in zip codes where the risks to their well-being are severe. In addition, 80% of the 35 predominantly minority zip codes fall in the severe-risk category.
